Blog: The Big Journey Destinations

It’s pretty clear on my blog that I am leaving the U.S. and will go on a new journey! I thought I’d share with you what I have planned for the next 7 to 9 months!

First leg: Euro Trip!

That’s right! I’m starting my exciting adventure with a three month backpack trip around Europe. My first destination is Copenhagen and as you can imagine, I am pretty freaking excited. I don’t have all of my Euro Trip planned but briefly, the countries I will be going to from Denmark are: Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands and England.

It’s not too many countries considering that I’m going to be there for three months – but that’s completely intentional. I love spending at least 5 days at a place. I don’t think I’ll be able to get the full experience just visiting a city for a day or two. So although I’m only visiting a handful amount of countries, I’ll be exploring few different cities in the country for (hopefully) 5+ days each.

Throughout the trip, I’ll be couchsurfing, hostelling, meeting up with friends, eating a lot and just indulging on everything I can!

Second leg: TBEX in Toronto!

This is my first TBEX and I can’t wait to see all of my bloggy friends. This year, TBEX is held in Toronto. So after my Euro Trip, I’ll make a detour to North America and visit Canada. I’ve only been to Montreal so I’m looking forward to Toronto. I’ve heard great things. Plus, I’m going to be with all the awesome travel bloggers so definitely going to learn a lot.

Third leg: Thailand/Cambodia!

This was going to be taken out of my original plan. However, my trip to India got pushed back a bit and I haven’t seen my parents or have been back home to Cambodia in about 2 years so I had to add it in. I’ll be relaxing a little bit after my 3+ months of traveling but I’ll be keeping myself busy! I’m hoping to teach for a month and travel in between. If I don’t end up teaching, then you know lots of travel is coming up.

Fourth leg: India!

This is the most exciting/scariest/nerve-wrecking/super cool part of my journey. Starting mid-July, I will be in Hyderabad, India volunteering at a local school. I’ll get more into details later but basically, I am so thankful for this opportunity in so many levels.

India has always been a place I’ve wanted to visit but knew that I was not prepared. I always thought and still believe that in order for someone to complete appreciate the ‘beauty’ of the place, you need to be prepared to take in whatever it throws at you. Even though I grew up in Cambodia and think I’ve experienced a little more than many who have only been in developed countries, I’m still very hesitant and unsure about how open-minded I actually am.

However, I do believe in signs and I think this trip is meant to be. I had a chance to visit India last year but it didn’t happen because I didn’t feel ready but this time, I’m more excited than anything. The volunteer task is challenging and it will be hard. It also won’t allow me to go there and travel. It will definitely not be a field trip. Three months is definitely not a short time.

I’m actually really ready to see what’s going to happen. I’m ready to let things be and see how everything turns out.

Fifth leg: ????

So India is the last leg of my journey. Where I’ll go next will depend on the situation. I’m sure my thoughts and plans will change along the way so for now, I’m just going to leave it as is and figure things out along the way.

So stay with me as I record my journey on nananatravels.com and summerinsea.com!
